February 22 For All Camps!

2017 Boise State Football High School Team & Renegade Camp (June 14-17)

This camp is open to individual players grades 9th-12th, as well as high school entire teams. Individual campers will form Renegade teams and compete in all individual, one-on-one and team sessions of the camp, just like campers from full teams that come.

Renegade Camper check-in is as follows: Overnight Campers (Noon – 2:00 pm on Wednesday, June 14th) at Chaffee Hall; Day Campers (2:30 pm on Wednesday, June 14th) at the Caven-Williams Sports Complex.

Team check-in will take place from Noon – 2:00 pm at Chaffee Hall on Wednesday, June 14th. The head coach or a coaching representative is needed for check-in. You will receive camp t-shirts, a packet with dorm keys and all of your meal tickets.

Camp will conclude at Noon on Saturday, June 17th.

For team registration a team code will be provided and we ask that all members of a team coming together register on-line. Payment for the team needs to be received by Friday, June 9. All coaches with teams must do a Boise State University background check and fill out volunteer forms, prior to arriving for camp. Contact Brad Larrondo with coaches names and email addresses at least 2 weeks prior to camp.

For teams that want to arrive in Boise the day before, optional check-in can be arranged for Tuesday, June 13th. Based on NCAA rules, an additional $25 per bed will be charged per individual for the additional night of lodging in the Boise State resident halls for teams arriving Saturday. Additional meal tickets can also be purchased for $10 / per meal / per person.

Camp participation is open to any and all entrants (limited only by number, age, grade level and/or gender).

Medical Information/Eligibility

Campers must be between the ages of those entering ninth grade and seniors-to-be in high school.

Campers must have their own medical insurance to attend camp. Please fill out the medical information completely. Campers are also required to bring a photo copy of their medical card (front and back)  the day of camp check-in for our records. Certified athletic trainers are in attendance at every session and reside in dorms for consultation. We must have a photocopy of your insurance card on file before you will be allowed to practice.  No exceptions.

Daily Goal Line Challenges:

Goal Line Challenges pitting one team against another will take place during daily team periods on Wednesday evening, Thursday morning/afternoon and Friday morning/afternoon. The teams with the most energy and hype will be selected at the end of the practice periods to square off on the Blue of Bronco Stadium. Be ready for the Challenge!

Bronco 7-on-7 Passing Tournament:

Round robin games will be held on Wednesday and Thursday nights. Games will be held each night on the Blue (Varsity games) and the Indoor Facility (JV games). Tournament schedule and rules follow later in this packet. Daily schedules will be posted in the indoor facility and also be available at the Camp Information Tent on the band hall plaza outside the Indoor Facility.

Big Man Challenge:

This unique competition allows the “Big Men of the Trenches” (Offensive and Defensive Linemen) the opportunity to show off their skills, strength and agility. Boise State Head Strength & Conditioning Coach Jeff Pitman, Offensive Line Coach Scott Huff and Defensive Line Coach Steve Caldwell have formulated these drills to give players a competitive edge for the upcoming season.

Last Team Standing Group B/JV Tournament:

The younger players in camp get their chance to shine on Friday night with the Last Team Standing Tournament. All Group B teams will be placed in a tournament bracket and get a 15 minute running clock game from the 40 yard line in. No kicking, so go for it on 4th down. If turned over on downs, possession change takes place and ball spotted at 40. After a TD, ball placed at 3 yard line for one point non-kicking attempt for PAT. Tie-breaker will be OT format from three-yard line.

Friday Night Lights:

Varsity teams will get the chance to shine under the stadium lights of the Blue on Friday evening, with Red Zone Challenges at either end. Bronco coaches will be looking for energy as they select the match-ups. Each team will get four plays for a first down, and then four more inside the 10. We’ll keep the action going so we can get as many teams rolling through the challenges from 8:45 pm – 10:00 pm.

The purpose of our camp is to make everyone who attends a better football player. We emphasize championship technique in the game of football and life, to give each player and team attending the competitive edge.
